Silver Fox’s jiu-jitsu ace Danielle Kelly has long dreamed of becoming ONE Championship’s first ever female world champion in submission grappling — and come Friday, September 29, she’ll finally get her shot, when she goes to war against AOJ star Jessa Khan for the promotion’s inaugural women’s atomweight world title at ONE Fight Night 14.
It won’t be the first time these two have met in high-level competition. The last time they clashed, Khan came out on top with a decision victory over Kelly — but Kelly’s hungry for revenge. The Silver Fox phenom has also thus far gone undefeated at ONE, with two victories and only one draw.
Still, she’ll have her work cut out for her with Khan, who’s won IBJJF gold at both Worlds and Pans as a black belt. Kelly may have more experience in the ONE Circle, but Khan is certainly no stranger to big crowds and high expectations.
These two will also be in good company, sharing the main card with three other explosive all-female bouts, including two additional world title matches.
In Angela Lee’s absence, fan favorite Muay Thai queen Stamp Fairtex will be seeking the interim women’s atomweight MMA crown against Ham Seo Hee. Meanwhile, over in the Muay Thai realm, Jackie Buntan will be taking on Smilla Sundell for the strawweight world title. Finally, boxing specialist Xiong Jing Nan — perhaps best known for her crowd-pleasing MMA rivalry with Angela Lee — will take on two-time Muay Thai national champion Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak in a special rules striking bout.
Catch all the action by streaming ONE Fight Night 14 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, September 29 at 8 PM EST.
