In a recent interview, Graham Bensinger asked Dana White how safe it is to compete as a UFC fighter, compared to competing in other sports like the NFL and boxing. White scoffed at the question, pointing out that the UFC had never had a serious injury or fatality in its’ eighteen year history, in spite of bouts featuring headbutts, groin strikes and other belligerent maneuvers. White also said: “I believe that every man should teach his son how to fight”, explaining that knowing how to defend yourself is a useful life skill, even if you do not intend to fight for a living.
