The IBJJF held its first Curitiba Open this weekend in Brazil.
The event had both gi and no-gi divisions.
Rafael Lovato Jr. travelled all the way from Oklahoma City to compete in his first event in nine months after a tendon injury on his right shoulder.
He came back in great fashion with double gold in the heavyweight division and the open class in the gi category.
In the no-gi category, he won the superheavy division and finished second in the open class closing with teammate Pedro Moura.
