Craig Jones To Face Roberto Jimenez At Who’s Number One

FloGrappling has released the details of yet another big match on their upcoming Who’s Number One card.

The event, which will be headlined by Gordon Ryan vs. Matheus Diniz and will also feature a match between Nicky Ryan and NCAA championship wrestler Tony Ramos, will also host a match between Craig Jones and Roberto Jimenez, FloGrappling announced today.

Though he’s coming off an overtime loss against Mason Fowler at SUG 17, Jones has been able to savor the taste of victory over and over again both this year and in 2019. COVID-19 kept him off the last Who’s Number One card against Lucas Barbosa, and while we’ll surely get to see those two face off sometime in the future, he’s well-matched against Jimenez. He’s proven his knack for finishing matches early, and this match’s sub-only ruleset with a 15-minute time limit could prove to be the perfect recipe for him to kick off a new winning streak.

Jimenez is anything but an underdog in this match, though. The young black belt has been plumping up his grappling resume all year, collecting big victories at events like 3rd Coast Grappling and Fight 2 Win. He made his black belt debut in stunning fashion, defeating Keenan Cornelius at Who’s Number One back in February, and he’ll be returning to see if he can check a win against Jones off the list.

Who’s Number One will take place Friday, October 2 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
