Craig Jones Submits Brent Primus At SUG 19

Former Submission Underground champion Craig Jones made his return against Bellator veteran Brent Primus at SUG 19.

Jones pulled guard immediately, then came up and tried to pass Primus’ half- and open guard. Jones was able to get past Primus’ legs with relative ease, and the competitors wrestled to their feet. Jones pulled guard again, and after some back-and-forth, he closed his guard and angled himself for an armbar. Though the submission didn’t land, he did get the top position and began working for one of Primus’ legs. Primus protected his legs, but wasn’t able to stop Jones from getting to his back and locking in a body triangle. Jones locked in a rear naked choke, and though Primus survived initially, he ultimately tapped at 3:50 in regulation.

The victory put Jones back into the SUG win column after two losses to current SUG champion Mason Fowler.
