Craig Jones Replaces Gordon Ryan At Who’s Number One, Will Face Luiz Panza In Main Event

The bad news: Gordon Ryan is out.

The good news: Craig Jones is in.

Following the news that Ryan would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from competing due to ongoing medical issues, Jones has stepped up to face Luiz Panza in the main event of May 28’s Who’s Number One event.

Ryan vs. Panza was announced earlier this month during the promotion’s most recent event, which Jones was originally scheduled to headline against Tye Ruotolo. However, Jones had to withdraw from the event due to an adverse reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine, and Gilbert Burns vs. Rafael Lovato Jr. took over the main event slot.

Thankfully, Jones is well once again and ready for action, and he’ll be going into the event on a four-match winning streak. He’s competed in two WNO events so far and won in both appearances, first defeating Roberto Jimenez via inside heel hook and then Ronaldo Junior with the same submission.

This will be the first time that Jones and Panza have faced each other, and the 2016 No-Gi World Champion is ready to give Jones a challenge.

Who’s Number One: Jones vs. Panza will take place on Friday, May 28, and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
