Could Georges St-Pierre Be Returning To MMA Action Soon

Ever since his “break” in 2013, MMA fans have been speculating over when or if former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre will return to the cage.

Now, it appears we may have a reason to believe GSP will be back in the octagon . . . and soon.

In an interview with Bloody Elbow’s Ram Gilboa, GSP said that he wants to fight, and he and his management team are starting the USADA process to be tested.

“I want to (fight again). My agent is negotiating with the UFC, they had an offer, we made a counteroffer, you know that’s how business goes. And then we heard a day after that UFC sold for $4 billion dollars. We wanted to let the management to take care of their own company first, and then see what happens.

“Now we’re talking again and I’m starting the USADA process to be tested, I’m starting it Aug 10. in Las Vegas. Because to be eligible to fight you need to be tested.”

Before he left the UFC after his controversial win over former Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks, St-Pierre was one of the biggest draws in the UFC.  He is also widely considered one of the best mixed martial artists in the world, holding a 25-2 record and being second only to Anderson Silva in consecutive title defenses in the UFC.

St-Pierre, a BJJ black belt from Gracie Barra Montreal, was also widely known (and sometimes criticized) for his dominant wrestling.

Will 2016 or 2017 be the years the legendary Georges St-Pierre makes his return to the UFC?

We can only wait and see.
