Copa Podio is trying to expand its wings. Its latest destination is Buenos Aires, Argentina which will host the event on the country’s Independence Day. The stadium recognized as the home of legendary soccer club Boca Juniors will welcome some of jiu jitsu’s finest fighters.
Among them will be Leandro Lo, the 5-time Copa Podio champion with four titles at lightweight and one at middleweight. Diego Borges will also be present to compete in the Middleweight Grand Prix. Come to the Ginasio San Lorenzo on July 9 at 1pm to see the action live. There will also be a subscription-based online broadcast at www.flograppling.com
The opening fight will be between Franco Marini and Enrique March who are both local talents. For the Southamerican Champions, Argentines Ottaviano La Maquina, Angel Alderete, and Mariano Hinojal will fight against Max Lichevski of Paraguay, Luis Schaerer of Paraguay, and Andres Peres of Chile, respectively.
