Conor Says Floyd ´Has Some Strong Tools´ He Could Use In MMA
Conor McGregor, as could be expected, trash talked his way to his debut professional boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.
As also could be expected, Floyd beat his less experienced opponent, ending the fight via TKO in the tenth round.
Most people think it would have been a very different story if their roles had been reversed— that is, if Floyd had fought Conor in an MMA match. Conor is, after all, the man who ended former Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo´s 18-fight win streak in 13 seconds and who easily defeated Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez to become the first person to hold two UFC titles at the same time.
These people are probably right. Conor almost certainly would demolish Floyd in an MMA fight. However, Conor thinks the 40-year-old, 50-0 multiple-time boxing champion has some tools that would help him in MMA, if he ever sought to pursue it:
¨His experience, his patience and his endurance won him this fight hands down,¨Conor said on Instagram. ¨I always told him he was not a fighter but a boxer. But sharing the ring with him he is certainly a solid fighter. Strong in the clinch. Great understanding of frames and head position. He has some very strong tools he could bring into an MMA game for sure.¨
