Conor McGregor responds to Dustin’s Poirer’s call out

A few days removed from a devastating (but not entirely surprising) loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dustin Poirer called for a rematch with Conor McGregor.

Unfortunately for “the Diamond”, McGregor did not agree.

I mean… he’s not wrong. But, a lot has happened since the 2014 bout at UFC 178. Sure, McGregor secured a first round TKO win over Poirer. However, McGregor has competed just seven times since then (inside the Octagon, at least), while Poirer has fought sixteen times. McGregor has held the Featherweight and Lightweight belts; Poirer held the interim Lightweight belt.

McGregor, on the other hand, thinks he’s next in line for Khabib.

Back in December, Khabib explained exactly what it would take for him to agree to a rematch with Conor… $30 million and the fight to be in Russia. Well, we’re halfway there.

Meanwhile, Tony Ferguson waits patiently and seems to be the more realistic favorite for the next shot at the champ. If Conor takes the fight with Poirer and wins, he’d have a much more realistic chance at the rematch. But since when has Notorious been realistic?
