Earlier today, TMZ reported that UFC star Conor McGregor pled guilty to disorderly conduct — a misdemeanor — for his now-infamous rampage in April that left multiple UFC fighters injured on a bus.
The charges were dropped from one count of felony criminal mischief and three counts of misdemeanor assault to just one misdemeanor after McGregor reached a plea deal with prosecutors in Brooklyn, NY.
McGregor will be punished with five days of community service. He will also have to pay for the damages to the bus and complete an anger management course. It was also reported that Dana White would still retain McGregor as a UFC fighter.
“I just want to say I’m thankful for the D.A. and the judge for allowing me to move forward. I want to say to my friends, my family, my fans, thank you for the support,” McGregor said outside the courtroom after his sentencing.
Had McGregor been convicted of all the initial charges against him, he could have faced up to seven years in prison and deportation. But for now, it seems like we’ll be seeing more of this fighter in the octagon than in jail.
