Conor McGregor Makes $500,000 Donation To Boys & Girls Club In Louisiana After Dispute With Poirier

Former two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor has made a $500,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana in Dustin Poirier’s home state of Louisiana, according to a social media post shared by the organization.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana received an unexpected call last week and are humbled to share that Conor McGregor is donating $500,000 to impact youth in South Louisiana by supporting our upcoming 2021 Summer Camp and ongoing health and recreation activities in our 6 Club sites. This investment is a gamechanger! Thank you, Conor, for helping to ensure that our kids have what they need to grow and thrive this summer!”

The sizeable donation comes weeks after a social media feud between McGregor and his two-time and upcoming opponent Poirier. McGregor had initially promised a $500,000 donation to Poirier’s charity, The Good Fight Foundation, but Poirier called him out on Twitter after McGregor’s team stopped responding to emails following their most recent fight, which Poirier won. Poirier later expressed regret for making the dispute public, and the two are scheduled to take the fight to the UFC octagon on July 10.

Poirier and his Foundation have previously announced work with the same Boys & Girls Club, saying that they would provide transportation and tutoring for the group in 2021.
