In late March, Conor McGregor announced that he would be donating 1 million euros’ ($1,083,220 USD) worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals in the Leinster province of Ireland, his home country. McGregor had committed to the donation in a conversation with Irish Minister for Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donahoe, which the fighter later shared on social media.
Now, McGregor has followed through with his commitment, with multiple hospitals confirming that they’ve received the supplies from the UFC fighter.
In the case of the Crumlin Children’s Hospital, though, McGregor actually showed up in person to make sure that the staff got what they needed.
McGregor shared the moment on Instagram:
McGregor has been an outspoken advocate in favor of social distancing as the virus has spread around the world. Ireland has had 20,612 cases of COVID-19, with 1,232 deaths attributed to the virus.
