Right now, a large portion of the jiu-jitsu community is in Las Vegas for either the IBJJF World Masters or the IBJJF Las Vegas Summer Open. But black belt and two-time world champion Claudia do Val entered both competitions and earned a place at the top of the podium at every opportunity.
Do Val, who earned her black belt under Ricardo De La Riva, was first victorious in the Masters 1 medium heavyweight category.
She then went on to win gold in the Masters 1 open weight division.
But she wasn’t done yet; do Val then went on to compete in the Las Vegas Summer Open, where she again fought her way to the top of the medium heavyweight podium.
Then, she once again dominated the open weight category.
Not content with four gold medals, do Val then took off her gi and — you guessed it — won gold in the medium heavyweight no-gi division.
By now, you should see where this is going: do Val also won gold in the no-gi open weight division.
After she wrapped up this week’s competitive endeavors, do Val had added an impressive six gold medals to her already extensive collection. This elite competitor clearly came to Vegas to win, and she didn’t disappoint her fans or herself.
