Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion “The Iceman” Chuck Liddell is widely considered one of the most popular and entertaining fighters in mixed martial arts, and he is still considering a comeback.
Liddell was interviewed on TMZ Sports. The interviewer noticed Chuck’s training regimen at the “Big Brother” house, and wanted to know if the Iceman was still planning a comeback fight.
“It’s still a possibility for sure,” Liddell said. “I didn’t want to get too far out of shape. I was in there, I had my…boxing all of the time…lots that they didn’t show, but I was having a good time in there, staying in shape. I’m staying ready.”
When asked whom he’d like to fight, Chuck mentioned Chael Sonnen as a possible “warm-up” match and Tito Ortiz, though he wasn’t sure if the latter would accept.
Chuck Liddell is 48 years old, well older than the oldest active MMA fighter in the UFC. He ended his MMA career on a three-fight losing streak. All losses came by way of knockout or TKO, and he was finished in his last two fights in the first round. He has not fought professionally in mixed martial arts for almost eight years.
Can Chuck Liddell make a comeback in MMA, though? If he did, he’d certainly make history.
