With UFC all-time great Georges St-Pierre booked to grapple MMA’s jiu-jitsu legend Demian Maia at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 this December, submission grappling exhibitions for big-name MMA fighters are becoming more and more popular — and former lightweight king Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira wants a piece of the action, per MMA Fighting.
During an interview on MMA Fighting‘s Portuguese-language podcast Trocação Franca, Oliveira — who holds the current UFC record for most submission victories in the Octagon — said, “To be doing a jiu-jitsu match, a grappling match, would definitely be important for me, because I love the art.”
“I would really like the opportunity to grapple against St-Pierre, it would be a gigantic honor,” elaborated Do Bronx. “I admire and respect him a lot. We’ve met and took a picture together, he said he was also watching me fight, so that would be great.”
