A video from two years ago has once again gone viral on Reddit, and it’s easy to see why.
The clip shows an aggressive, erratic, and shirtless passenger on the metro in Los Angeles becoming increasingly agitated. When he hears a fellow passenger call him a “weirdo,” he confronts him, getting up in his face and becoming even more upset. Suddenly, though, a large arm slips around his neck from behind, and the aggressive man is taken to the ground with a rear naked choke from a bystander, who was later identified as fitness club manager Adrian Kaczmarek. As the aggressor regained consciousness, Kaczmarek held him down with his foot until police arrived. The shirtless man was later arrested “on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol,” according to the LA Times.
Although the incident happened in 2016, the clip remains an evergreen reminder of how violent situations can reach a safer ending through good-intentioned people with even basic jiu-jitsu knowledge.
