For now, at least, it seems that Brock Lesnar’s time with the WWE has come to an end.
According to PW Insider, Lesnar’s contract with the WWE expired, and he and the organization reached an “impasse” and have not come to a new agreement. Lesnar is now a free agent and can take offers from other promotions, including those in the MMA industry.
The WWE previously had an agreement with Lesnar that allowed him to fight for the UFC, which amounted to a single bout against Mark Hunt in 2016 that ultimately resulted in a no-contest ruling after Lesnar failed a drug test.
There have been multiple times over the years when Lesnar has teased a return to MMA to put pressure on the WWE near the end of his contract or between contracts. This time around, though, the WWE has removed all of Lesnar’s apparel and merch from their website.
There’s no news yet on Lesnar’s future career plans, but ESPN reports that Bellator is interested in working with the former UFC heavyweight champion.
