Tye Ruotolo has officially booked his next tango on the ONE Championship stage: the IBJJF world champ and ADCC veteran will be taking on Turkey’s MMA powerhouse Dagi Arslanaliev in a submission grappling bout this Friday, August 4, as part of the ONE Fight Night 13 card.
Though primarily known as an MMA athlete with vicious knockout power, Arslanaliev is also physically conversant in competitive jiu-jitsu. While he’s a good deal less decorated in the sport than either of the Ruotolo twins, the Turkish MMA star has consistently found his way on to the podium at jiu-jitsu tournaments throughout Europe, including a gold medal finish at the Azerbaijan Open.
Tye will be joining fellow American BJJ sensation Mikey Musumeci, who’s booked for the main event, to defend the ONE flyweight submission grappling world title against Division I wrestler turned MMA star Jarred “Monkey God” Brooks. Also sure to thrill jiu-jitsu fans is IBJJF Hall of Famer Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida, who takes an MMA fight against Senegalese wrestler Oumar “Reug Reug” Kane in a clash of grappling styles.
Catch all the action by streaming the whole show from Amazon Prime Video on Friday at 8 PM EST.
