A change of schedule has just been announced for Kasai 6 this Saturday in Atlantic City. Originally, three-time ADCC Champion Tom DeBlass was scheduled to compete against Gracie Seymour CT Instructor, Andrew Tevay, in a Heavyweight bout with a 270lb weight-limit despite DeBlass walking around at a relatively slim 237lbs.
When Tevay was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a knee injury, DeBlass was not only happy to take on a late-notice replacement just four days before the fight but he was also happy to abandon the original weight-limit agreed.
As a result, the 6ft 3in, 335lb catch wrestling world champion Nick Caggia stepped up to the plate and DeBlass had no problem in giving up four inches in height and nearly 100lbs to the ADCC & NAGA veteran. Now fans will be treated to a real “David & Goliath”-style superfight as Kasai managed to add even more interest to an already stacked event featuring an 8-man Bantamweight tournament with some of the best competitors around.
