It’s official, everyone. Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre will be returning to the cage some time later this year.
Only he won’t be returning to his old weight class. This time, St-Pierre, 35, will be moving up to take on reigning middleweight kingpin “The Count” Michael Bisping.
UFC President Dana White announced the news Wednesday on SportsCenter.
Georges St-Pierre is one of the top names in mixed martial arts. He lost only twice in his 27-fight career, and holds numerous records in the division he reigned over for six years. These awards include: most wins in UFC title fights (12) and most successful title defenses in the UFC welterweight division (9).
