GMA member Andre Glodzinski organized on September 19th the 1st Annual California State Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
The event followed the rules and regulations of the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation and gathered over 100 athletes in Sacramento, California.
Competitors from various academies in the region came to compete, including many GMA schools, such as Capital City BJJ, Kutgar BJJ, Casio Werneck BJJ, Paradise BJJ, Ralph Gracie and Cia Paulista.
The highlight of the tournament was the Absolute Black Belt Division, which offered $1000 cash prize to the first place winner. Black Belt Antonio Braga Neto was the champion. In the final, Braga Neto defeated Daniel Herzog.
The 2nd Annual CA State Open is scheduled September 2011 in Sacramento.
