Jiu-jitsu has proven time and time again that it can come in handy in self-defense and street fight situations, so it’s no surprise that many jiu-jitsu practitioners are also bouncers.
One unlucky (and very drunk) patron found this out the hard way when he needed to be taught a lesson by black belt (and Jiu-Jitsu Times writer) Kevin Gallagher, who works at a bouncer at a dive bar.
