After just 1 professional MMA fight, Bo Nickal will be fighting for a UFC contract on Tuesday, August 9 at Dana White’s Contender Series.
He’ll be facing his toughest opponent yet when he takes on the undefeated Zachary Borrego, who has a professional record of 3-0. Borrego flaunts two 1st-round KO’s under the Fury FC banner.
The pair will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 185-pound bout with the opportunity for a UFC contract on the line. With a fighter who is as credentialed and exciting as Bo Nickal, a UFC contract is not outside of the realm of possibilities if he wins.
Rising UFC superstar Sean O’Malley also earned his contract through Dana White’s Contender Series, and from then they took care to develop his fan base with challenging and exciting match-ups. Though Nickal’s style is vastly different from O’Malley’s, his striking is really coming together and his elite wrestling sets up a lot of opportunities to let his hands go. As we saw in his last fight, the power and precision is definitely there and he’s more than capable of inflicting fight-ending damage while on the feet.
It all happens on Dana White’s Contender Series on August 9, 2022 and streams on ESPN+.
