Certified badass, purple belt, coach, and overall standup guy Clinton Terry has one of the more inspiring social media presences out there. Known simply as @blindgrappler on Instagram, he posts training videos, tutorials, and short essays on why he chooses to push himself in competition against able-bodied competitors specifically. And as of this weekend he’s the 2019 PanAm silver medalist at purple belt.
It’s not Clint’s first medal…not by a long shot. The New Zealander is a ten-time national wrestling champion and five-time national jiu-jitsu gold medalist:
Don’t call him an inspiration, however. It’s a compliment he receives constantly and sprawls out of like a takedown defense.
“I am just another guy trying to be the best I can,” says Terry.
He’s got a protege, PS. Daughter Aurora is also tearing up the mats, and is currently a Pan Pacific Jiu-Jitsu champion.
Oss, fam.
