Black Belt Fighting Cancer Still Shows Up To Fight Teammates

You may remember the face of Professor Hai Tran, second degree black belt longtime member of the New Orleans martial arts community, from this post detailing his jiu-jitsu journey and current fight with cancer. Tran was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2018.

Though he’s currently going through a monster round of chemo, Tran’s been demonstrating the stubborn streak and positive attitude that students say he’s known for, showing up rocking a newly aerodynamic dome at his West Bank homebase to spar and help promote students.

Side effects from chemotherapy include fatigue, vomiting, weight loss, headaches, and vertigo so…yeah, tell us again why you’re too tired to train today? And then maybe drop by this link and show the man some love. Treatment and related costs are ongoing.

I don’t want to hear your excuses. Get up. Move. Even when you feel like you can’t. Prof. Hai Tran is going thru Chemotherapy and is STILL going beast mode. Some inspiring **** right here at Nola Bjj Westbank
