BKFC and RIZIN veteran Sheena “Starr” Brandenburg has been arrested on charges stemming from a deadly hit and run back in August, as first reported by 9 and 10 News.
A warrant for Brandenburg’s arrest has been out since October. After she was arrested, she was arraigned on one count of reckless driving causing death and one count failure to stop at scene accident resulting in serious impairment or death, with her bond set at $250,000.
The alleged hit-and-run occurred at 1 a.m. on August 1 in Michigan. According to MMA Junkie, state police responded to what they thought was a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, finding the rider, 56-year-old Troy Lambert, injured. Lambert later died from his injuries.
It was later discovered that Lambert’s motorcycle had been hit from behind by another vehicle, and police say that Brandenburg was the one who hit the motorcyclist with her car. Police say that both Brandenburg and Lambert had come from a local tavern, and that Brandenburg did not stop to help Lambert after the crash.
Brandenburg most recently competed for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in December at BKFC 15, when she had a warrant out for her arrest. She lost in the second round.
Brandenburg has not won a single fight in her amateur or professional MMA career.
