On Saturday, February 6, BJJ Stars returns to action with a star-studded heavyweight grand prix and superfights. The Fight to Win sportsbook has released complete betting odds for the event, with Nicholas Meregali favored to win the eight-man tournament.
The BJJ Stars heavyweight grand prix is stacked with world champions. Meregali, who is arguably the most dangerous guard player in the world, is installed as a -150 favorite to win the tournament. ADCC absolute champion and multiple-time IBJJF world champion Felipe Pena trails closely behind as a -125 favorite. Late replacement Yuri Simoes, who is filling in for Mahamed Aly, finds himself as a +225 underdog but could be a dark horse in the field.

The event also features a handful of high-level superfights. Twenty-year-old phenom Roberto Jimenez is the biggest favorite of the card as a -355 favorite over IBJJF world champion Isaque Bahiense. And in women’s action, ADCC and IBJJF world champion Bia Mesquita is a -200 favorite over 2020 IBJJF European Open champion Thamara Ferreira.
For those that need a primer on betting odds, it works like this. A wager on a favorite like Mesquita (-200) means a gambler would have to risk $200 to win $100. Her opponent, Ferreira, is a +145 underdog, meaning a $100 wager would return $145 if she wins.
