Last Saturday the UFC set up its Octagon in Lincoln, Nebraska, and one of the bouts featured BJJ legend Rani Yahya.
An ADCC champion and veteran UFC fighter, Yahya made his precise jiu-jtsu dominate the fight. His opponent, the American Luke Sanders, was unable to resist for more than two minutes.
This time, Yahya’s win came through a heel hook. After, through a nice transition, he achieved a position from which to start tightening, Yahya adjusted and saw the technique slip. But like the good black-belt he is, he persisted and, with some more adjustment, managed to spin and catch Luke in the decisive technique. You can watch Yahya’s typical expertise on display in the following video.
