UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn has had another run-in with the law, this time being arrested on suspicion of DUI on January 23.
The arrest was made after police in Honokaa, Hawaii received a call complaining about a reckless driver on a “business property,” according to TMZ. When officers arrived at the scene to question Penn, his behavior was sufficient to lead to an arrest.
Video of the arrest (which contains strong/offensive language) was shared on social media:

Penn has since been released from custody pending an investigation.
The former UFC champion was involved in a single-car crash almost a year ago, prompting a separate DUI investigation. In 2019, he was served with a restraining order by the mother of his children, alleging abuse and threats. Penn’s team later released a statement calling the accusations “misleading” and “false.” He was released from the UFC later that year after multiple videos surfaced showing him involved in altercations in bar and street fights.
