Bitetti Combat preliminary fight sets the example

The martial arts in general may be an excellent life choice for people who don’t have many opportunities. There are the examples of great Brazilian champions in world MMA and even lesser-known fighters who found their way by choosing fighting as their profession.

In the preliminary fight at the June 18 Bitetti Combat Cup, the ninth installment of the promotion, two fighters get their feet wet in MMA.

Pablo dos Santos, who was a street kid in the city of Salvador, Bahia, moved to Rio de Janeiro and found his way through Jiu-Jitsu, winning a number of competitions. At BC the fighter will make his debut facing Danilo Pelezinho, who hails from Crazada de São Sebastião, a low-income community in Rio de Janeiro. Through fighting, both hope to see a better future.

“This matchup was made at the behest of Marco Cabral, a martial ars practitioner and the son of Governor Sérgio Cabral. They support our sport, so it was a fair request,” remarked Amaury Bitetti, the organizer of the event.
