Back in Brazil, Dream featherweight champion Bibiano Fernandes is making the most of a little vacation he is taking to see friends and family in his birthplace of Manaus.
“Bibis”, as he is called by his Master, Pina, has returned to his origins. The 2006 world champion light featherweight did some gi training, something he gets little of in Canada, where he lives and teaches Jiu-Jitsu, but has been primarily focused on MMA as of late.
However, as our collaborator Arthur Castro, of Lutas do Norte, tells us, if you know something you don’t forget it. The Manaus native showed his technique is up to date. He just wasn’t ready for the scathing temperatures in the city (around 104 degrees Fahrenheit, 40 Celsius), quite different from where he lives now, where the cold can go well below zero.
