It only took Brent Primus a pair of minutes to wow the Bellator Birmingham crowd with a sudden victory by gogoplata over competitor Tim Wilde. The pair of lightweights squared off on in the main event on May 4th.
Primus pulled off the win in response to a heavy right from Wilde, which knocked Primus onto his back. Unfortunatley, Wilde didn’t respond to Primus’ funky rubber guard and wayward shinbone in time to maximize on his position.
A black belt in jiu-jitsu, Primus trains out of Gracie Barra Portland. The Oregon native dethroned Michael Chandler for the lightweight championship in 2017, but lost the belt in their rematch back on December 15, 2018.
The gogoplata is part of Primus’ climb to reclaim the belt, and marks his fourth victory by submission as a Bellator fighter:
