Baret Yoshida Inducted Into the ADCC Hall of Fame

Hawaiian Baret Yoshida has officially joined the ADCC Hall of Fame, and is the latest athlete to do so. Yoshida secured a silver medal in his first ADCC World Championship in 2001, where he gained recognition for competing in the finals against Royler Gracie. He went on to take another silver at ADCC in 2003 and a bronze in 2007.

He was also an IBJJF World No-Gi Champion in 2008, 2009, and 2018 (masters 3 division). As well as jiu-jitsu, Yoshida also held an MMA record of 6-6 with 5 submission wins. Baret is one of the biggest staples in ADCC history, competing in an unprecedented 10 ADCC world events.

Baret Yoshida started training Jiu-Jitsu back in 1994, at Relson Gracie’s academy, one of the oldest and most established academies in the region. He trained there up until his purple belt and in 1999, made the switch to practice under Egan and Enson “Yamato Damashii” Inoue. After a long list of achievements, Yoshida earned his black belt under Egan Inoue’s in 2002.

ADCC posted to their official Instagram page: @adcc_official – “ADCC Hall of Fame: Baret Yoshida.
