Angela Magana was released from the UFC last December shortly after her fight with Amanda Cooper, who defeated Her Majesty via second-round TKO. Angela is currently on a five-fight losing streak.
Murata, on the other hand, is riding a three-fight win streak, having won her last fight via first-round anaconda choke. She has a 7-1 record. Her only loss came by way of a rear naked choke at the hands of Rin Nakai.
Magana is well-known for her trash talking, and she made headlines last year after she and reigning UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion (then Invicta Champion) Cris “Cyborg” had an argument at a UFC retreat that resulted in Cyborg punching Magana in the face.
Despite her less-than-stellar record and image, Magana was extremely active in calling attention to the damages done to Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria.
Angela Magana will be fighting in the 53 kg division at Rizin. No news yet on how viewers in the United States will be able to watch the fight.
