Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will be on the UFC 208 card, scheduled to take place on February 11.
His opponent: Jon Jones’ teammate and 3-time Division II All-American wrestler Derek Brunson.

Though once considered the best MMA fighter in the world, Anderson Silva has unfortunately hit a low point in his career. “The Spider” as he is known to MMA fans, has not won a match since his dominant win over Stephan Bonnar back at UFC 153 in 2012. He is currently riding a five-fight-no-win streak (four losses and one no contest). Accusations of PED use have also plagued Silva in recent years.
Brunson will also be looking to get himself into the win column at UFC 208. Though 33-year-old recently had his five-fight win streak snapped by Robert Whitaker at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs Brunson back in November.
UFC 208 is expected to be headlined by the inaugural women’s featherweight championship match between Germaine de Randamie and former Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm. Glover Teixeira, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, and Dustin Poirier will be some of the other big names on the card.
If Anderson Silva loses this match, will it be time for him to hang up his gloves?
