Double-champ Amanda Nunes will be back in the Octagon for a June 6 UFC event, this time to fight Felicia Spencer, according to ESPN.
The June event has not officially been announced or named by the promotion yet, and a location is still undisclosed to the public. However, a bantamweight fight between Cody Garbrandt and Raphael Assuncao has also been announced for the card. The Nunes vs. Spencer fight will be for the featherweight title, which Nunes currently holds. It is still unknown if the fight will serve as the card’s main event.
The fight was originally scheduled for May 9, but after the event was moved from Brazil to the USA, Nunes decided against participating so that the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t affect her training camp. She’s undefeated in her last ten fights and also holds the bantamweight title for the UFC.
Spencer is a former Invicta champion who made a statement at UFC Fight Night 169 following her TKO victory over Zarah Fairn dos Santos in February.
While details on this event are currently sparse, the Jiu-Jitsu Times will continue to provide updates on the June 6 card as they become available.
