A preciously scheduled fight between Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson has been scratched from the UFC 256 card, according to reports from ESPN and MMA Fighting.
Though specific details are currently sparse, we know that Nunes had to pull out of the event due to injury. Anderson wished Nunes well on Twitter and said that the fight would be rescheduled “early” in 2021.
Nunes is currently on an 11-fight winning streak, having most recently defeated Felicia Spencer in June of last year. She’s currently both the bantamweight and featherweight champion, and her bout against Anderson was to be her second featherweight title defense.
Anderson is riding a two-fight winning streak, finishing both of those fights in round one. With six TKOs on her professional resume, she’s likely to be a handful for even the dominant Nunes when their fight does eventually happen.
