We can now look at Alistair Overeem’s face again without cringing.
The UFC fighter’s lip was partially torn from the rest of his face during his fight with Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Although Overeem seems to be the clear winner for most of the fight, he was knocked to the ground with a punch from Rozenstruik during the final seconds of the match, which left part of his lip severely torn. Despite Overeem’s willingness to continue the fight, the referee called it and declared Rozenstruik the winner.
Now, though, Overeem has been stitched up, and considering the damage he took, the doctor(s) who worked on him clearly knew what they were doing. For comparison, here’s the “before” photo:
And here’s the “after” photo that Overeem shared:
“Tossing out interviews here – like nothing ever happened @UFC#UFCKorea”
Yes, we know that it is literally someone’s job to take bad facial injuries and make them look like they weren’t nearly as bad as they actually were, but we’re just happy to see Overeem’s face once again in one piece.
