In 2011 the Brazilian Air Force turns 70 years old and a sporting event gathering military personnel and civilians is thus being planned in celebration. And Jiu-Jitsu, yet again, is on the program.
The coming 18th of September will mark the maiden Air Force Jiu-Jitsu open championship, the “Força Aérea Brasileira Open de Jiu-Jitsu.” The FAB Open will take place at the gymnasium of V Comar, the fifth regional air command, in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, is open to all athletes over the age of 4, and will award kits, gis and medals.
“It is our hope that by holding this event we will contribut to the evolution, professionalization, appreciation and strengthening of the this genuinely Brazilian art, as well as the industry that encompasses it,” said a press release from the event’s organizers.
