After 2 Days UFC Lifts Its Ban On Ariel Helwani

The UFC lifted its ban on reporter Ariel Helwani on Monday.

The MMAFighting.com reporter, videographer, and photographer was kicked out of the arena on Saturday minutes before the UFC’s middleweight title bout took place.

Helwani was removed for breaking two news stories earlier that day that were not supposed to made public.

Helwani posted a story about former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning to the sport. He announced that Lesnar would be on Las Vegas’ UFC 200 card in July.

Ariel also broke the news that there would be a rematch between the featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz in August at UFC 202.

On his weekly show, Helwani insisted that he had two reliable sources for both stories. By the end of the show, Helwani was brought to tears when he spoke about being banned. He also said he did nothing wrong and that he was proud to be a journalist.
