The date for ADCC Worlds has been moved to 2022 to increased COVID-19 case numbers and travel restrictions.
The international championship event, which had originally been scheduled for September 2021, will now (hopefully) be held “as early as possible” in 2022 according to the event’s head organizer, Mo Jassim.
In a comment on ADCC’s Instagram post sharing FloGrappling‘s announcement of the news, Jassim clarified that a big part of why the event has been rescheduled is so that spectators could attend the event and the ADCC Trials could take place all over the world.
“I know this sucks and it wasn’t an easy decision but no way would I do ADCC without trials or spectators. Have no doubt ADCC 2022 will be one for history books.”
The Jiu-Jitsu Times will continue to provide updates on ADCC and BJJ in the COVID-19 era as they become available.
