After ADCC 2021 had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we now have a set date and location for ADCC 2022.
The promotion’s host, Mo Jassim, made the announcement on ADCC’s official social media pages, revealing that the massive event would take place on September 17 and 18, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue will be the Thomas and Mack Arena, which should be able to fit about 10,000 spectators.
Jassim said in the post, ” I’m going to put a lot of pressure on myself and say it now, ADCC 2022 will be the biggest grappling event of all times and there is no way I let ADCC, Abu Dhabi, the competitors, the coaches and the fans down. I will surpass everyone’s expectations and this will be a historic event and I feel sorry for the grappling fans who don’t see it live.”
Obviously, there are many competitors yet to be announced for the event, but it’s already been confirmed that reigning superfight champion Andre Galvao will participate in the 2022 superfight. The promotion has strongly suggested that despite the health issues that have taken him out of competition for the foreseeable future, 2019 double-champ Gordon Ryan will be coming back to face Galvao for the superfight.
