One week after his four-gold sweep at the Munich International Open, Poland’s Adam Wardzinski did it again. The Checkmatter was the big winner at the London Winter International Open, held March 4th, walking away with two gold medals.
To win the heavyweight tourney, Wardzinski had to beat Lucio Lagarto in the final. In the open he defeated Jackson Sousa, who had beat the ultra-heavyweight field. Wardzinski has now beat Lagarto, Igor Silva and Jackson Souza in the span of two weeks, and is starting to make a name for himself.
The female standout was Tayane Porfírio, who also won double gold. No opponents showed up in her weight class. In the open, she fought and beat Vanessa English of Gracie Barra in the final.
