ACB JJ World Grand-Prix 60kg Fighter Lineup A Treat For Fans

Fans are in for a real treat at the World Grand-Prix ACB JJ’s 60kg division. Fighters competing in the event are:

Samir Chantre

Samir Chantre has an extensive competitive record, obtaining medals from impressive tournaments such as the World No-Gi Championships, the Brazilian Nationals, and the European Open. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Alan Moraes. Much of his training has been supervised by World Champion Caio Terra. Samir has won IBJJF No-Gi World Championships in 2010,2014, and 2016.

Milton Bastos

Milton Bastos competed extensively in freestyle wrestling while in his native country of Brazil. He came to the U.S. in 2009 and started pursuing a career in jiu-jitsu, conquering important titles such as the IBJJF World Championship. Bastos is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller. Milton is a 2010 IBJJF Brown Belt World Champion.

Laercio Fernandes

A black belt under Givanildo Santana, Laercio Fernandes is one of the top jiu-jitsu fighters in the Pluma weight division. In 2010 he gave an impressive performance, defeating heavy favorite, Caio Terra, where he was approaching the top spot at the U.S. Nationals. Laercio is a 2013 Black Belt IBJJF European Champion.

 

ACB JJ Puts Up A Stacked 65kg Card This Weekend

Rafael Barata

Known best for his creation of the shoulder lock submission called the Baratoplata, Rafael Barata is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from the Gracie Barra Academy. Barata’s accomplishments include winning the Pan American and World No-Gi Championship titles. He is also a successful MMA fighter having participated in the professional circuit.

Isaac Doederlein

Isaac Doederlein is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Rubens Charles “Cobrinha”. Doerderlein was a rising star in the lower belt divisions from blue belt onwards, earning him several medals and faithful fans across the world.

Joao Miyao

Joao Miyao is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Cicero Costha. Miyao and his twin brother are considered two of the very best jiu-jitsu fighters of their generation. They have accumulated an impressive collection of titles from some of the most important tournaments in the world.  Joao is an IBJJF World Champion at purple and brown belt.

Tomoyuki Hashimoto

Tomoyuki Hashimoto, who goes by the nickname “Passport”, is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Yuki Nakai. Hashimoto made a name for himself in the sport while competing in the lower belt divisions. His accomplishments are impressive and include winning a World Jiu Jitsu title while representing the Carpe Diem Academy of Japan. He also participated in the prestigious Dumau Challenge. 2015 was a good year for Hashimoto when he conquered a gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour.

Mayko Araujo

Mayko Araujo is a professor at Checkmat Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2016, he won gold in the IBJJF black belt gi division and bronze in the no-gi division. He also took third in the 2015 Pan Am No-Gi division.
