Abu Dhabi World Pro day 4: Our exclusive coverage of the masters contests

Igor Silva in the under-110kg master 1 final of Abu Dhabi World Pro 2019. Carlos Arthur Jr.

On the fourth day of Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2019, held this Tuesday, it was time for the masters — from blue to black belt — to step on the mats.

At black belt, there some some well-known names which you still find competing amongst adults. In the 94kg division, for instance, Renato Cardoso had a great run and, in the final, used a swift wrist lock to finish.

Also standing out was Marcos Tinoco. After achieving two submission wins, he scored 6-0 in the final. In the under-110kg division, Igor Silva won a semifinal match against Ricardo Evangelista to meet and beat Antonio Junior in the final. Also grabbing attention was José Tiago, who began behind on points until he scored an advantage from a sweep attempt, applied a beautiful takedown, took the back and submitted Musabbeh Al Khateri for gold in the 62kg division.
