- Female and Male Black belts to receive $1000 bonus if they win by submission

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 11th January, 2018: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation®, official authority for the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in the United Arab Emirates, conducted the official weigh-ins today at the Mubadala Arena, ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam® | Abu Dhabi.
Due to high demand, a new division – ‘Teen Division’ has been added to the tournament’s schedule for all belt categories. The first day on Friday 12th January will now start at 10am with the Teen Division until 12pm and then the matches will resume at 14:00pm as per the schedule.
The Female and Male Black belts will be putting themselves in line to win an extra $1000 in cash prize, as a bonus, if they win by submission. Adding another layer of excitement to the matches among some of the best black belts in the world.
This year is the ‘Year of Zayed’ and H.E Abdulmunem Al Hashemi, Chairman of UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation®, President of Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union & Senior Vice President of Jiu-Jitsu International Federation extends his gratitude, “2018 marks 100 years since the birth of Sheikh Zayed – the founding father who united the emirates and took this nation to new heights of prosperity and progress”

And Abu Dhabi Grand Slam is one of the top tournaments. I have competed and won many times at the Grand Slams and to be back again here in Abu Dhabi, is really incredible.”
