3rd Coast Grappling has announced the emergence of their own streaming platform called Submission (or Sub) TV.
3CG promotor Ryan McGuire made the announcement in a social media post earlier today, saying that the service had been in development for some time, but is officially ready to launch to stream 3CG’s upcoming events: The Qualifiers II on October 26 and 3CG III on December 7 featuring Gordon Ryan vs. Rodolfo Vieira as the main event.
The service will be a PPV platform that also offers free content, offering viewers the ability to purchase events a-la-carte and giving them the ability to replay the events for as long as their account is active. The Qualifiers II will be available for $4.99, while 3CG III will cost $9.99. McGuire has also said that The 5th Stripe podcast, which is produced by 3CG, will be included on the app as well.
McGuire told the Jiu-Jitsu Times that the idea for SubTV was created out of the desire to provide both promotors and viewers with more options for streaming jiu-jitsu events. “The subscription model works for some, but we don’t want to tie people into some agreement or service that really doesn’t give them the value they deserve,” he said.
However, bringing more promotions in is more likely to happen “down the road,” according to McGuire. For now, he and his team are focusing on perfecting the platform with their own events before opening it up to other promotions.
