Claressa Shields no doubt has some excellent stand up. After all, as an amateur boxer she won gold in the women’s middleweight boxing division in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. As a professional, she has held the North American Boxing Federation’s middleweight title since March.
Shields isn’t just interested in being a beast on her feet, though. In a video posted on Instagram by Invicta Featherweight Champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino, Shields can be seen working some of her grounds skills.
Cyborg commented on the video and couldn’t help but take some shots at her employer, the UFC:
What Do you do if you have to fight a lion on land and a shark in the ocean? #ufc214 #letsgochamp 2x Olympic Gold medalist @claressashields is currently considered the pound for pound best female boxer in the world, but even if she wanted to transition to MMA there would be no opportunity for her to compete in her weight class in the UFC. Go follow her page for news on her next boxing fight!

It looks like she was also getting some help from Gabi Garcia.
