Yuri Simoes is officially a ONE Championship fighter.
Simoes, a highly accomplished jiu-jitsu competitor with two ADCC titles and multiple World Championship titles to his name, made the announcement today on social media. Simoes has repeatedly expressed interest in expanding his martial arts career to the cage, and this development is a huge step forward for him.
“It’s all official now, I have just signed my contract with @onechampionship
Dreams do come true! I look forward to this new chapter in my journey as fighter. Thank everyone that has helped making this possible.“
Simoes joins multiple other ONE Championship fighters who have made the transition from BJJ to MMA, including Garry Tonon and Michelle Nicolini.
We have yet to see who Simoes will be facing in his debut fight, but if his MMA career is anything like his jiu-jitsu career, we can be sure that he’ll be putting on a serious show.
